Without further ado, my list of goals for the Day Zero Challenge (a.k.a. 101 goals in 1001 days)! The items are due Monday, May 13, 2013, 1001 days from today.
My plan is to keep the list in this post updated (crossing off items as I complete them, or listing partial completions for those that require multiple actions) and also create posts when I complete certain goals. Now on to the list…
HOUSE
1. Organize the garage/basement
2. Organize the spare bedroom (Move craft stuff to craft room and holiday stuff downstairs or to the garage) {link}
3. Find something useful to do with the spare bedroom {link}
4. Finish the guest bedroom/craft room
5. Create an emergency kit
6. Get a fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, and smoke alarms {link}
7. Hang at least three pieces of artwork/pictures in my house {link}
8. Accessorize the fireplace and mantle
9. Decorate master bathroom
10. Make my basement the awesome hangout space I know it can be
11. Create an inbox/organization center for mail/magazines/etc {link}
DIY
12. Build a piece of furniture
13. Transform a curbside find
14. Transform a thrift store find {link}
15. Sew an article of clothing
16. Make an accessory
17. Do an IKEA hack {link}
18. Make a dollar store craft
19. Give at least one handmade gift to close family and friends {1, 2}
SPLURGE
20. Buy a nice camera {no link, but I got a Canon S95!}
21. Buy a chest freezer{decided we don’t need one right now; it would likely become a bottomless pit of forgotten food…}
22. Purchase 10 handmade items from Etsy or other venue {link}
23. Get a patio/deck added on to our house {link}
PARTY
24. Host a holiday meal for the family {link}
25. Host or attend a murder mystery dinner {link} (I still want to host one, though!)
26. Organize or participate in a scavenger hunt
27. Host a poker night
28. Host another Halloween party {link}
29. Put together a creative costume for said Halloween party {link}
LIFE
30. Create a binder of important information {link}
31. Learn to screen print
32. Read 10 books {1, 2 & 3, 4 & 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10}
33. Send out Christmas cards to family and friends at least once {no link, but I did send out cards for Christmas 2010 and 2011!}
34. Take a class at a community college for fun
35. Take more pictures and print the best ones for albums
36. Buy a complete outfit at a thrift store
37. Don’t complain about anything for a week
38. Watch 10 documentaries {1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 9&10}
39. Learn how to do my hair in a different way than normal
40. Get back into the habit of giving thanks before every meal
41. Consolidate and organize digital photos and create backups
42. Participate in a competition {link}
43. Win a competition {link}
44. Floss more often than the day of each dentist appointment
45. Remove makeup nightly
46. Dye or highlight my hair at least once
47. Record an full CD’s worth of covers with “The Occasional Brazilian Steakhouse” on Garage Band
48. Go ice skating outdoors
FOOD
49. Try Once a Month Cooking {link}
50. Make a birthday cake for someone
51. Add 10 new recipes to my recipe binder and try them at least once {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8-10 and more!}
52. Refrain from eating out for a month
53. Eat nothing fried for one month
54. Learn to make delicious beverages with my espresso machine {didn’t use it enough… sold it on Craigslist and used the proceeds to pay for my new camera}
55. Enjoy dinner outside once we get the patio at least once per week during summer {typically, we eat dinner inside, then go outside afterwards to relax, read, watch Eddie play, etc…}
HEALTH
56. Run a 7 minute mile
57. Bench press 100 pounds for 2 reps
58. Do 5 consecutive chin-ups
59. Use only stairs, no elevators or escalators, for one month (unless it is not an option) {no link, but completed during January and February of 2011}
60. Refrain from drinking adult beverages for one month {no link, but it’s done}
61. Refrain from drinking soda, a.k.a. Cherry Coke Zero, for one month
62. Drink nothing but plain water for 1 week
63. Get back to my goal weight
64. Take vitamins and fish oil daily {link}
ADVENTURE
65. Go camping in a tent {link}
66. Go skydiving
67. Go on a road trip
68. Go on a cruise
69. Go to Europe {London Part 1, 2, 3; Paris Part 1, 2, 3}
70. See a drive in movie

72. Attend a Colts game {with Peyton gone, what’s the point?!}

BUSINESS

84. Write at least 3 blog posts per week on average, 429 posts total
85. Create a blog entry for each completed goal
86. Get 100 followers for the blog
87. Inspire 3 people to do the 101 goals in 1001 days challenge
88. Have at least 10 bloggers put me on their blog roll {1, 2}
MONEY
89. Pay off student loans
90. Pay off car #1 {done}
91. Pay off car #2 {done}
92. Buy at least one stock {I guess this counts since we have 401K’s}
93. Put valuables in a safe deposit box {link}
94. Stick to the budget for at least 5 months overall
95. Be officially debt free except for mortgage
CHARITY
96. Donate unworn clothes {have done this multiple times lately}
97. Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity
98. Cook a meal for the Ronald McDonald House
99. Donate blood {I tried, my iron was too low… I’ll try again…}
100. Donate $5 to charity for every goal not completed
GOALS
101. Move all applicable unfinished tasks into a new 101 goals in 1001 days challenge list and do it again






Krysten shared your site with me and I love it. I think I may steal your silhouette idea! Also, check with her because we did a murder mystery last year and it was really cool. I think my mom has the kit that goes along with it and you can totally borrow it! Keep up the awesome work! The house is really coming together!
